KYC, 3D Liveness and ID Verification
3D Liveness Detection Features
Included in Business License
- Our facial verification goes far beyond a “selfie”. It is a live, active 3D face scan that enables a strong liveness check and contains a 3D facemap
- The liveness detection AI engine observes countless concurrent human traits, that spoof artifacts are unable to recreate all at once
- Two types of data are required for every face authentication: 3D face data for matching, and real-time 3D liveness data to prove the face data was collected from a live, present person.
- The 3D liveness data is timestamped and is only valid for a few minutes, and then deleted
- Supports more than 10 billion modern smart devices and webcams
- The interface is intuitive and very easy to use
- The process is frictionless and user adoption is very high
- Globally, the system adopts more than 15 million new users, every month
- This means that it would take 12,800,000 random imposter attempts before you would expect 1 error. This accuracy is achieved under real-world usage and the measurement is taken across a dataset of volunteer users from 170+ countries, and billions of matching attempts
- Honourable Mention: Apple’s Face ID has a FAR (False Acceptance Rate) of 1/1,000,000 (See iPhone X Keynote). Although Apple's Face ID is not usable across-platform or for real authentication, this is very impressive - coming closer than any other, at only 12.8 times below our FAR average.
- A 3D facemap can unlock anything from a car door to a bank account. Real users get easy access, but bad actors and bots are rebuffed by anti-spoofing, which is AI Certified by a NIST/NVLAP lab
- Biometric facemaps are securely stored
- When a user returns, ongoing face authentication again proves 3D liveness by comparing the new 3D facemap to the one from onboarding. If they match, access is granted
- Storing 3D facemaps doesn’t create a honeypot risk, because these are data only, without any actual user data or liveness data
- The stored facemap data cannot be used to spoof the 3D Liveness AI
- Think of the stored 3D facemap as a lock, the user’s newly collected 3D facemap as a one-time key, and the new 3D liveness session as proof that the key has never been used in the lock before
- The encrypted 3D facemaps:
- Cannot be phished from users
- Stop credential sharing
- Stop Botnet attacks
- 1:1 Match 1/12.8m FAR
- 1:N De-duplicate up to 1/128m FAR
- Match 2D photos up to 1/950,000 FAR
- Provide anonymous age checks
- By using reusable facemaps, new liveness sessions can be matched to the 3D facemap on file
- If they match, access is granted; no password required
- The system detects and adjusts to real-world lightning conditions
- A person needs to be present during the liveness session
- The system cannot be fooled by holding up photos, masks, or deepfakes
- Not convinced? Then read more about our participation in the $100,000 Spoof Bounty Program
- The award-winning underlying technology that is used in all our 3D Facial Biometric solutions is produced by our technology partner, FaceTec
- In conjunction with FaceTec and other FaceTec partners, we participate in the $100,000 Spoof Bounty Program, which was designed to ensure our biometric authenticator is secure - and remains secure - in the real world
Photo ID Match Features
Included in Business License
- Face matching is the ability of a computer system to estimate the probability that two 3D facemaps came from the same user. The solution's 3D matching algorithms are at least two orders of magnitude better than 2D matching algorithms, because they operate on 3D data captured from a 2D camera, utilising patented technology that is proven in the real world
- The photo ID match process only succeeds if the user passes Liveness and the live user matches the face present on the photo ID
- You can set the 3D:2D match criteria level between 1 - 7, 7 being a 99.99998% match
- Match Level 7 - 1/500,000 FAR
- Match Level 6 - 1/100,000 FAR
- Match Level 5 - 1/10,000 FAR
- Match Level 4 - 1/1,000 FAR
- Match Level 3 - 1/500 FAR
- Match Level 2 - 1/250 FAR
- Match Level 1 - 1/100 FAR
- Match Level 0 - Non-match
- 3 High-resolution photos of the person holding up the photo ID documents are captured and written to the compliance report
- Each retry event is recorded
- Facemaps and facescans are encrypted by default using a combination of asymmetric RSA encryption and randomised AES-256 encryption
- FIDO now also has a biometric "certification" for liveness. FIDO is not even close to the same certification as our 3D Liveness Detection solution has achieved in the NIST/NVLAB Lab in its 30107-3 PAD tests. The FIDO certification for presentation attack detection is ridiculously easy to pass - 1 in 5 spoofs are allowed to bypass the system, and FIDO would still certify the security of the liveness of the product. Samsung Galaxy S10 became the first FIDO PAD-certified fingerprint reader to be certified by FIDO, and also became first FIDO-certified authenticator to be publicly spoofed, just days after its release. See www.Liveness.com for more information
- To support Legal Identity Issuers becoming Remote Digital ID Verifiers, the SigniFlow Server SDK can re-encrypt 3D facemaps using the Public Key, so it can be shared with Government. The Goverment is also running a FaceTec Server SDK and can receive 3D FaceMaps securely via API over HTTPS
- The Goverment Identity Issuer can securely match the 3D FaceMap to the 2D Goverment ID Photos for positive ID verification, and share only the Match Decision with the Private Entity that requested the ID Verification of the user
ID Verification Features
Included in Business License
- Electronic identity verification (eIDV) uses personal information, such as name, date of birth, or national ID, from various data sources to quickly confirm if an individual is who they claim to be
- These verification attempts can result in a match, non-match, or partial match
- Available in the platform and API with configurable transactional licence plans
- International data providers frequently refresh data through the Global Data Consortium network, providing the most up-to-date global identity verification data available
